Standard Register 1903 - 1930

Standard1903-19302.jpg

Founded in 1959 by the late John Davy to record the existence of, promote interest in and encourage the use of Pre 1931 Standard, Avon Standard and Standard Swallow Cars.

Becoming a Member:
Open to all pre 1931 Standard cars.  The Standard Register has never charged an annual subscription, the mere ownership of a suitable car making one eligible for membership.

Future Events:

Gordon Bennett Rally - Ireland , 8th - 10th June 2012
Following a break in 2011, once again I plan to lead a party of pre 1930 Standards to Ireland for the Gordon Bennett International Rally, as organised by the Irish Veteran and Vintage car Club.  Already, the owner of the 1912 Brighton Torpedo (which is an Irish registered car) has already indicated that it would like to join my 1913 Rhyl.  Other entrants are always welcome and advice on Ferry Crossings and accommodation can be given to those interested.

Standard Register weekend - 3rd - 5th August 2012      "The Welsh Borders Rally"
I am pleased to announce that I have booked The Dragon Hotel at Montgomery, Powys.  This is an AA 2 star hotel on the Powys/Shropshire border and it is hoped that we will be able to fill the entire Hotel.  Further details and entry forms will be sent out to all regular entrants next February.  Early booking will be essential as availability of accommodation can only be guaranteed until the end of April.  Visits on the Saturday will include Stokesay Castle and Acton Scott Historic working farm.  Sunday will journey into Wales to visit Glanservern Hall Gardens.
For further details on the venue, please look at:   http://www.dragonhotel.com

Standard Register weekend - 2nd - 4th August 2013   "A Cotswold Caper"    Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
2013 marks the Centenary of the introduction of the model S - Standards' first entry into the light car market, and their first model produced by volume production methods.   I have booked the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester for this important milestone event and I hope that this might produce the largest number of model S survivors ever seen together in one place.
